Entry 82 of 100

After four months of becoming an eBay seller and opening my online store, QCatsBiz, I have achieved the star status of Turquoise. This means 100 of my customers have left positive feedback about the products they purchased. I am honored, humbled, and excited. Just like the preschooler rushing home to show her parents the star sticker given out by the teacher for good work, I, too, am a bit giddy.

It's not often enough that what you do is rewarded by positive feedback. eBay's feedback system is both simple and brilliant. As a buyer, I look at a seller's feedback and make a judgement that determines whether or not I will do business with that seller. As a seller, I know other shoppers are doing the same. Comments about the quality of packaging, quick responses, and fast shipping enhance the quality of the feedback left.

Then there are those times when the seller-buyer relationship gets even closer.  One of my customers wrote me to tell me how much it meant to her to win the auction for a particular item. The item was identical to one that had been stolen from her at her place of work. Another customer sent thoughtful notes, thanking me for  my patience and apologizing for delays in payment due to the hurricane that hit Texas this summer. Seems to me, he was the one who required patience!

Whether the feedback is one star, four stars, or comes in the form of an email sent by a customer, it means someone took the time to say "well done" or "thank you" and that always means a lot.
