I told a friend that yesterday was a good karma day. I got to help someone and I got a haircut on the same day! She asked what I did to help someone (I guess she missed the part about the haircut).
I replied that I made a referral that put a soon-to-be-college grad in touch with someone who could help him with his job search. That was enough -- a win-win--for the student and the fellow who gets to help him out. But, if the connection pays off and he lands a job in either the Roanoke Valley or the New River Valley, then we all win, because it means that a smart, talented college graduate did not leave our region but found gainful employment here. The more grads like him who stay and help our region continue to prosper, the more we all have to gain.
