This week, I received an invitation
NOT to go to the Turn Down Ball hosted
YMCA at Virginia Tech. What?
The invitation, please:
On March 7, please turn us down!
During this economic downturn, we have the solution to a declining portfolio--the Y's Turn Down Ball! Just think, no silent auction, no tuxedo cleaning, no new ball gowns! This could be the most cost-effective event of the year!

You've got admit it, this campaign for the YMCA at Virginia Tech adds a punch to fundraising! Inside the invitation, they are asking you to do two things: Buy a ticket for $125
and don't come to the Ball!
The money raised goes to the fund two projects for the Y: A pottery studio and a community kitchen. Both projects will enhance community, art, and learning in Blacksburg.
If you did not make the list of those invited not to come to the ball, don't fret, you can give this Cinderella story a happy ending by making a donation online. Remember, each ticket purchased entitles you to a cost-effective evening at home on March 7. Your ticket purchase is 100% tax deductible. If you have any questions, contact the YMCA at 540.961.9622, but don't go to the ball!
